On Saturday we went to Matt and Jenn's wedding. I suppose the wedding
itself had a Celtic theme, however the guests had all sorts of themes.
There was an entire family dressed in Ren Faire clothing. There were
goths and S/M people. Some of the wedding party wore swords, and one
of them had an old pistol on. It was a bit like everyone had openned
their closet and decided to play dress-up. The older generations were
in traditional sorts of wedding outfits; pastel and floral dresses for
the women, and suits for the men. There was such an ecclectic range of
dress, that it would seem impossible to be inappropriately dressed.
There was, however, one lady in a too tight, green, spaghetti-strap
cocktail dress who was definately inappropriately dressed.
It was an outdoor ceremony, and the weather didn't cooperate. Luckily
the vows were short, and afterward I hid out inside until dinner was
served. Most of the people seated at our table were friends of Mike's,
but people I'd only met a few times. There was one guy who I ended
up getting into a conversation about our current president with. I
find it odd that people come to the Bay Area and admit that they are
going to vote for this guy. It's just asking for trouble. Anyway, I
suppose I could've done without meeting that person, but it's over
now.
Being around so many people who were that excited to be dressed up really
emphasized to me that I'm not like that. I really don't like dressing
up in weird clothing. My outfit isn't a personal expression, it's just
what I'm wearing. I don't get into funky makeup, hairstyles, perfume,
or jewelry. I do have died red hair, but that's it, and even that's
getting to be a pain in the ass. I suppose I'm way less fun to people
watch than other folks. Oh well.

I ran in to Curtis and Jenn at the AMC show last night. I also ran
into Stack and his wife. It was great to see all of them. The band
didn't go on until really late, (I'm getting so old!), so for the
first time in a long time, I left a show before the first encore.
Oh well.

I suppose that I just wasn't ready to let go of summer, so I didn't put
up a page for October. But summer is definately over. I was busy too.
My project management class finally ended. Technically, this should give
me more free time for hanging out, however my next 3 weekends are still
filled with planned activities.
A week or so ago we saw Gillian Welch at the Fillmore. It was a good show.
I almost wasn't bitter about the huge stupid fees I had to pay to get the
tickets from whatever ticket middleman that the Fillmore uses. Tomorrow
is American Music Club at Cafe du Nord. It should be great, but I'm a little
tired just thinking about it.
This weekend is a wedding. Next weekend Mo's coming up from LA for the
Pescadero corn maze and pumpkin carving outing. The weekend after is
Alice's dinner and a movie night, at my house.
I really want the time to change. It's difficult waking up at a reasonable
hour when there's no light coming in my windows.
